CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDSALUS PRODUCTS

The MedSalus sheep's wool products are purely natural products and self-cleaning

Neither chemicals nor heat are used in production. There's a good reason for that. The The natural protection of sheep's wool is called lanolin, which has antibacterial, cleansing, moisture-regulating and odor-neutralizing properties. The sheep's wool duvet may not to be washed: If the MedSalus sheep's wool blanket is washed hot and with a standard detergent, the lanolin is destroyed piece by piece and washed out. The duvet and pillow would lose their special and natural properties.

Care instructions

A daily shakeout and good ventilation in partial shade is enough to keep the duvet and upholstery clean and fresh. It is important to ensure that the best possible air circulation is ensured. In apartments without a balcony, it is advisable to remove the duvets for ventilation, e.g. B. on a clothes horse, in front of an open window.

Tip: An even greater cleaning effect is achieved if the duvet and upholstery are exposed to moist air without a bed cover, e.g. B. after a rain shower or in fog.

quality criterion

Sheep's wool duvets, like other duvets, only have a limited lifespan and lose their attractive properties after 7 to 8 years. It's easy to test whether the sheep's wool duvet from MedSalus still fulfills its self-cleaning function: If it is aired in the blazing sun, the natural wool wax (lanolin) heats up and the duvet exudes the wool's own smell. This natural smell shows the high quality and naturalness of the products. A neutral smell would mean that there is no longer enough lanolin in the wool fiber and that the wool's self-cleaning function is no longer present.

Even after the MedSalus sheep's wool products have been delivered, you may be able to smell the typical natural smell of the wool. It is then recommended to let the sheep's wool products air out in a shady place for a few hours or overnight.

Washing instructions for exceptional cases

No automatic water saving programs may be activated to ensure sufficient washing and rinsing water. Dry the wet duvets horizontally, e.g. B. lay it over several lines and do not expose it to the blazing sun. Not suitable for tumble drying!

Alternatively, you can have the ceiling cleaned by a specialist cleaner. Please ask beforehand whether they specialize in wool products.

The cover is made of untreated cotton and is OEKO-Tex certified. If it has small dirt, we recommend treating it with an organic stain stick.

The sheep's wool duvets and pillows from MedSalus are self-cleaning. This is not the individually used bedding. Sweat and skin flakes collect in bed linen. Experts recommend changing bed linen once or twice a month. So nothing stands in the way of a restful sleep.

SHEEP WOOL IS SELF-CLEANING

When we sleep, we lose body fluid and thereby release salts, skin oil and skin flakes. This leads to two problems with conventional blankets: bacteria break down the fat building blocks and an unpleasant smell of sweat occurs. Skin flakes are the preferred food of house dust mites and are a problem for allergy sufferers. Therefore, blankets made of artificial fibers or down must be washed regularly.

Things are different with the sheep's wool blanket; it cleans itself and is dirt-repellent. The structure of the wool literally repels dirt and wool does not become electrostatically charged. Dirt does not penetrate through the flaky fiber surface. There is also natural wool wax, also called lanolin. It covers every hair of the sheep and has a special advantage. Among other things, lanolin neutralizes acids, which removes the breeding ground for fungi and bacteria, and thus has an odor-inhibiting effect. Unpleasant smells and house dust mites therefore have no chance.

Simply air the MedSalus sheep's wool duvets in the shade and shake them out to get a good night's sleep every night.

Finally sleep naturally again and with a clear conscience with the sheep's wool products from MedSalus!
