HAND WASHED – NATURAL, FAIR & SUSTAINABLE
Genuine handwork in the river water of the Atlas Mountains – without chemicals, with responsibility
Sheep wool is a sustainable raw material. It continuously grows back following the natural cycle. The MedSalus sheep graze 365 days a year in the Atlas Mountains and do not know stable housing. Species-appropriate, sheep-appropriate. They are sheared twice a year, with the well-being of the animals and a gentle approach being the top priority.
Due to the free-range farming of the sheep, the sheep shearing wool is neither contaminated by feces nor any other dirt. No chemicals or heat are required for cleaning. The MedSalus sheep shearing wool is only produced in washed in the cold waters of the Atlas Mountains.
No chemicals are used in the production of MedSalus sheep wool products, and thus no artificial or chemical substances are added to the ecological system. Our MedSalus sheep wool blankets clean themselves – completely without chemicals. They must not and should not be washed in the washing machine or by hand. This saves water, saves detergent, and thus again chemicals.
And when the comforters lose their impressive properties after seven to eight years - even sheep wool comforters have a limited lifespan - they are biodegradable. Or you can give the sheep wool fleece a second life by using it as fertilizer for the garden or balcony plants.
A sustainably operating company takes responsibility. Responsibility for the employees and responsibility for the customers. Through the project in Marrakech, MedSalus counteracts the difficult social conditions and unemployment prevailing there. The people are given a better standard of living and a future perspective through fair working conditions.
MedSalus fulfills its responsibility to the customer by the claim to offer only the highest quality, most natural, and most sustainable sheep wool blankets and products in Merino quality. Naturally and comfortably sleeping should not be an unaffordable luxury, which is reflected in the company's fair pricing policy.
