THE MEDSALUS SHEEP WOOL
Of course, temperature-regulating & full of power from nature
Sheep wool is a wonder of nature. 100% natural, moisture and temperature regulating. Created and perfected by evolution to serve as tailored "clothing" for sheep. Further processed by MedSalus into the highest quality sheep wool blankets: sleep woolly, sleep comfortably.
Their wool keeps the animals warm in winter and cool in summer. Even in the rain, sheep feel comfortable all around. The undercoat keeps their skin dry. Sheep wool can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet and releases it quickly. Sheep do not need to be washed. The structure of sheep wool repels dirt and also neutralizes acids, depriving fungi and bacteria of their foundation. Attributes that make sheep wool so valuable for duvets and ensure a healthy and natural sleep.
Many factors determine the quality of wool. It starts with the actual wool producers, the sheep. The better the animals are treated, the better the quality of the wool. The MedSalus sheep graze 365 days a year in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. In small herds, they are cared for and tended by shepherds. They simply do what sheep do all day long. A species-appropriate and sheep-friendly husbandry also means that they do not know any stalls.
This offers two advantages: sheep in free-range farming develop better wool and a better wool grease (lanolin). And their wool is not contaminated by feces or anything else. This leads to the next quality criterion: The MedSalus sheep shearing wool must not be chemically treated or washed hot due to its natural purity. The animals are sheared twice a year.
Great care is taken to ensure the well-being of the sheep. Not only because they form the livelihood of the shepherds, but mainly due to the close human-animal relationship. Afterwards, the fleece wool is washed in the clear, cold water of the Atlas Mountains. Chemicals and/or heat would attack the lanolin layer of the fleece wool and, in the worst case, destroy it. This would significantly affect the product. It is precisely this lanolin that is responsible for the moisture and temperature regulating as well as odor-reducing properties of sheep wool.
Our products only contain natural, highest quality sheep shearing wool. We continuously and very precisely monitor the living conditions of the animals and the quality of the shearing wool.
MELANIE LEXERHe is important when we are sick. Logically, Grandma always preached that! But he is just as important when we want to stay healthy. A fact that is no longer so consciously stored in our minds.
Because...During sleep, body and mind recover. The organism regenerates and gathers strength for the challenges of the next day. Good sleep increases concentration. The deeper the sleep, the more the functions of the brain improve and harmonize. It influences emotions. It's no wonder we ask: "Did you sleep well?" If the answer is "Yes," the mood is usually excellent. If the answer is "No," the questioner wisely prefers to take cover. The quality of sleep determines how we master our lives. Whether we start the day motivated and full of drive or whether we feel drained and lacking energy. The good news: Choosing the right duvet positively influences sleep!
People sweat. At night, the body releases up to half a liter of fluid. This is where sheep's wool comes into play. It can absorb water vapor inside the fiber, up to one third of its own weight, without feeling damp. This moisture is then quickly released without clumping the fiber. Thus, it always remains pleasantly dry and fluffy under the MedSalus sheep's wool blanket.
The wool protects the sheep from cold in winter and from heat in summer. This property is also retained by sheep wool in the form of a duvet or a pillow. It ensures a pleasant sleeping climate by providing excellent insulation and cozy warmth. However, it doesn't get too warm under the sheep wool duvet, as excess body heat is released to the cooler surroundings. This way, sleeping is wonderfully woolly.
Wool does not become statically charged and the structure of the fiber repels dirt. The natural wool wax, also known as lanolin, neutralizes acids among other things, depriving fungi and bacteria of their nutrients, and has an odor-inhibiting effect. This way, unpleasant odors and dust mites don't stand a chance.
