Created and perfected by evolution -
Lovingly handcrafted by MedSalus to create the most natural sheep's wool duvets in merino quality
Sheep wool is a miracle of nature. 100% natural, moisture and heat regulating. Created and perfected by evolution to serve as tailored “clothing” for sheep. Processed by MedSalus into the highest quality sheep's wool duvets: sleep woolly, sleep comfortably.
Their wool warms the animals in winter and cools them in summer. Sheep feel completely comfortable even in the rain. The undercoat keeps her skin dry. Sheep's wool absorbs up to a third of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet and releases it quickly. Sheep don't have to wash. Due to its structure, the sheep's wool actually repels dirt and also neutralizes acids, thereby removing the basis for fungi and bacteria. Attributes that make sheep's wool so valuable for duvets and ensure a healthy and natural sleep.
MedSalus sheep wool
Not all sheep's wool are the same. Many factors determine the quality of the new wool. This starts with the actual wool producers, the sheep. The better off the animals are, the better the wool quality. The MedSalus sheep graze in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains 365 days a year. They are cared for in small herds by the shepherds. They just do what sheep do all day long. Keeping them in a species- and sheep-appropriate manner also means that they don't have a stable.
This offers two advantages: Free-range sheep develop better wool and better wool fat (lanolin). And their wool is not contaminated by feces or anything else. This leads to the next quality criterion: Due to its natural purity, MedSalus sheep's wool does not need to be treated chemically or washed with hot water. The animals are sheared twice a year.
Great attention is paid to the well-being of the sheep. Not only because they form the shepherds' livelihood, but mainly because of the close animal-human relationship. The new wool is then washed in the clear, cold water of the Atlas Mountains. Chemicals and/or heat would attack the lanolin layer of the new wool and, in the worst case, destroy it. Which would cause the product to suffer significantly. It is precisely this lanolin that is responsible, among other things, for the moisture- and heat-regulating as well as odor-inhibiting properties of sheep's wool.
Our products only contain natural, high-quality virgin sheep's wool. We constantly and very precisely monitor the conditions in which the animals are kept and the quality of the new wool.
MELANIE LEXERGood sleep is important
It is important when we are sick. Logically, Grandma always preached that! But it is just as important if we want to stay healthy. A fact that is no longer so consciously stored in our heads.
For...While you sleep, your body and mind recover. The organism regenerates itself and gains strength for the challenges of the next day. Good sleep increases the ability to concentrate. The deeper the sleep, the more the brain's functions improve and harmonize. It influences emotions. It's not for nothing that we ask: “Did you sleep well?” If the answer is “yes,” your mood is usually excellent. If the answer is “no,” the questioner prefers to take cover as a precaution. The quality of sleep determines how we cope with our lives. Whether we start the day motivated and full of energy or whether we feel weak and lacking in energy. The good news: Choosing the right duvet will have a positive impact on your sleep!
MEDSALUS-SHEEP WOOL
The gentle and natural processing of MedSalus virgin sheep's wool ensures that all sleep-promoting properties are retained.
moisture regulation
People sweat. During the night the body releases up to half a liter of fluid. This is where virgin sheep's wool comes into play. It can absorb water vapor inside the fiber, up to a third of its own weight, without feeling damp. This moisture is then released quickly and without clumping the fibers. This means you always stay pleasantly dry and fluffy under the MedSalus sheep's wool duvet.
temperature regulating
The wool protects the sheep from cold in winter and from heat in summer. The sheep's wool does not lose this property in the form of a duvet or pillow. It ensures a pleasant sleeping environment by providing fabulous insulation and cozy warmth. But it doesn't get too warm under the sheep's wool duvet, as excess body heat is released into the cooler environment. This means you can sleep comfortably and woolly.
Self-cleaning and dirt-repellent
Wool does not become electrostatically charged and the structure of the fiber literally repels dirt. The natural wool wax, also called lanolin, neutralizes acids, which removes the breeding ground for fungi and bacteria, and has an odor-inhibiting effect. This means unpleasant odors and house dust mites don't stand a chance.
